Art Block Festival

2018 Art Block Festival

 April 21, 2018

An annual day-long festival held in downtown Jacksonville, Art Block features local and regional arts and crafts, live music, theatrical and other performances. In addition to providing the community and visitors to our area a great way to interact with the arts and artists, you’ll also see food trucks, face-painting and kid-friendly make-and-take crafts.

Art Block is also where a 3 Day Plein-Air Paint-Out is judged, awards are presented and a WET PAINT sale is conducted right on the street!

This year, we’re also bringing back our popular Chair-ity event! We’re inviting everyone to upcycle an old chair and donate it to be sold in a silent auction. The proceeds will help the Council for the Arts continue to create fun and unique programs for all artists and art-lovers in Onslow County! Find out more information in our Chair-ity Application!

Local photographers of all ages and skill-levels are invited to participate in our Candid Capture contest! Come out to Art Block, take photos, then submit your favorite to us – all free of charge! In the days following Art Block, we’ll host a Facebook photo contest to pick a fan favorite. The winner will receive prizes and recognition on our social media, our newsletter and website! This is a great way for amateurs to hone their skills and for professionals to make connections locally.

Update: Our 2018 Candid Capture Contest winner is Brittney Hinton, with 27 votes on her photograph of Jeremy Sams painting a mural.
