Whew! The end of Summer and the onset of Autumn have been busy here at the Jacksonville-Onslow Council for the Arts!
We did want to be sure and take a moment to share about our Cre-8 Art Gala which we hosted in October at the Hilton Garden Inn here in Jacksonville. In between enjoying an evening of art, laughter, good food, and beautiful music played by Justin Castellano, we came together to support the arts in our area.
First, we’d like to extend a very special thank you to all of the artists who donated their time and talents to provide the art that graced the 8×8 canvases the Council provided. We were amazed and delighted how each of our artists took the same substrate and created such varied and beautiful works of art. You are a big part of why we do what we do and we’re grateful for you!
Congratulations to the first three donating artists with works to be chosen by attendees in our gala auction: Jim Phillips (1st), Suzan Wallace (2nd), and Cathryn Akerman (3rd)!
We absolutely would not have been able to enjoy such a fun evening of supporting the arts in our area without the help of our volunteers, our Council Members, and our Board of Directors. They, in conjunction with the support of our generous sponsors, celebrity guest artists, and members of our community, all came together to make the evening complete.
To you ALL we say a big thank you!
We look forward to continuing to partner with you all to support the cultural arts in our area. If you or someone you know would like to receive a monthly newsletter which includes information about upcoming events like this and opportunities for area artists, please sign up here. We never give out our subscribers’ information and we solemnly swear not to blow up your inbox with a ton of emails.
We’re nice like that. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
