2nd - 25th - "Animals"
To kick off our year, the Council will present an Invitational Exhibition all about animals, horses, cats, birds, fish...oh my! It promises to be a fun and fascinating show. Artists included in this show: Dean Remington, Mitchell Morton, Betsy Meeder, Bob Williams, BF Reed, Christine Sundly, Karen Cowan Edwards, Jon Derby, Deborah Doolittle, Carol Baker, Bernie Rosage, Jr. Stephen Greer, Sr.; Lynn Padgett and many more.
3rd - 22nd - "A Living Legacy"
In honor of Black History Month, The Council will honor the 100 year anniversary of Georgetown High School, the 100 year Anniversary of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Montford Point Marines.
Opening Reception: Sunday, February 3rd from 2:30pm to 4:00pm, hosted by Tau Gamma Delta Sorority, Inc Jacksonville (NC) Alumnac Chapter
3rd - 22nd - 35th Annual Student Art Show & Competition
Grades 6 through 12. Each Middle & High School art teacher submits 8 pieces of work to the competition. This show is always colorful, intriguing and imaginative. Over 100 paintings will be on display.

7th - 26th - Onslow Art Society's 51st Spring Art Show
Work by local and region artists on display at the Arts Council. Take in days are Sunday, March 25 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and Monday 26, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Last year over 150 paints, photographs and sculptures were entered into this show.
Pick up dates: April 29& 30th.

6th - 25th - "Freedom Fountain"
This singular show on the Freedom Fountain starts a series of exhibitions where one subject is highlighted. Area artists and photographers will bring in their favorite views of the most recognizable landmark. Weather it is the whole fountain, an arch or a single brick, this will be a spectacular show!

June 7th - July 26th - "Carolinas to the Abacos"
Jacksonville artist, Karen Cowan Edwards' traveled by boat up and down the Atlantic Coast to the Bahamas. The picturesque scenes along the way is featured in her show. Tropical locations, people and sea scapes are showcased in this show.
Opening Reception: Friday, June 7, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
4th - 30th - "Emergent South"
This show features six artists from Southeastern North Carolina with a wide range of artworks including silk screen, watercolor, portraits and photography. Unique, colorful, unconventional.
Opening reception: Sunday August 4th from 2:30pm to 4:00pm.
8th - 27th - "Art of Nature"
Stephen Zawistowski, Jacksonville Sculptor, utilizes modern and traditional techniques to forge steel into nature-inspired works of art.

6th - 31th - Onslow Art Society's "Images 2013" Juried Art Show
Work by local and region artists on display at the Arts Council. Last year over 150 paints, photographs and sculptures were entered into this show. Take in: Sunday, September 29, 1:00pm to 4:00pm and Monday, September 30, from 8:30am to 4.:30pm.

November 9 - December 24th - COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS HOLIDAY SHOWCASE AND SALE
Featuring art, pottery, textiles, stain glass, wood items by Regional Artists. Come join us for a festive season of Holiday joy, the Council celebrates the holidays with beautifully decorated trees. This is a great way to find just the right item for that special person.
