Volunteerit's a rewarding experience
What is a Volunteer?
A volunteer is a citizen who gives some of their time to support the Arts Council. Volunteers are very important to the success of the Arts Council and the growth of cultural arts in our community. Volunteers come to the Arts Council or Arts Council events for a block of time. As a volunteer, you can determine your availability. You might volunteer as few as 2 hours or as many as 10 hours per week or month. You can set your schedule with the volunteer coordinator…who is also our Executive Director, Noah White.
Volunteering is a rewarding experience that allows you to engage with a vibrant arts community, have access Art Council programming, participate in social events and receive verification of hours for academic or other credit.
Do I need experience?
You do not have to have previous volunteer experience. We will ask you about your skills, experiences and interests. This will help you find what volunteer activities may be best for you. Volunteers may act as docents – welcoming and assisting visitors in the Gallery. You might help with light administrative support or collect tickets at an event. Volunteering is a great way to support the arts and enjoy the fulfilling experience of making a difference.
How Do I Become a Volunteer?
To become a volunteer, contact the Arts Council staff and submit a Volunteer Application. You can download a Volunteer Application or pick up one when visiting the Arts Council office. Applications are accepted by the Council’s office in person or electronically. To submit your application electronically, email it to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
As a volunteer, you are not entitled to payment for time or cash-value benefits, but you can be confident knowing your contribution is very important and you’ll enjoy the variety of Arts Experiences at the Council.
